A Shared Framework for Social Infrastructure
AISP’s initiatives are organised through Connect, Build, and Learn — a shared framework for developing social infrastructure.
The framework brings AISP’s initiatives together through three interconnected elements: Connect, the relationships that bring people together; Build, the structures that enable organisation and collective action; and Learn, the knowledge, culture, and capacity that allow progress to deepen and continue.
Niaco is the Connect initiative.
As the Black Online Community Network, it creates purposeful spaces for Black communities to connect, communicate, share opportunities, and organise.
The New A.P. is the Build initiative.
It develops structures, platforms, and institutional models that support organisation, coordination, and long-term collective progress.
ALTA is the Learn initiative.
Grounded in African ways of knowing, it supports learning that deepens knowledge, critical thought, creativity, and cultural understanding.

The Framework in Practice
Connect, Build, and Learn take practical form through three interconnected initiatives. Each has a distinct purpose while contributing to one part of the shared framework.
One Framework, Three Initiatives
The three elements are designed to reinforce one another. Connect builds the relationships through which people come together. Build gives shared purpose structure through organisation and collective action. Learn develops the knowledge and capacity that allow both to adapt, deepen, and continue.
Together, Niaco, The New A.P., and ALTA create an interconnected approach to social infrastructure in which relationships, structures, and learning can develop together and contribute to a wider system of social progress.
