About AISP

The African Institute of Social Progress (AISP) is a pan-African institution that designs and builds social infrastructure to enable large-scale, collective progress across Africa and its diaspora.
We work at the level of systems—developing institutional frameworks that enable people and organisations to coordinate, share knowledge, and act collectively over time.
AISP designs the frameworks that shape how systems function, while developing core systems and initiatives that bring them into practice—ensuring they operate in a connected and coordinated way.
In doing so, AISP enables more aligned, effective, and sustained social progress.

Systems for Social Progress

Context
Africa and its diaspora are entering a period of significant transformation. A growing and youthful population, expanding digital connectivity, and rising creative and entrepreneurial capacity are reshaping how communities organise and create value. Connections across borders are deepening, and new possibilities for collaboration are emerging.
These shifts present meaningful opportunity. They also demand deliberate institutional design. Sustained advancement requires more than innovation alone; it requires frameworks that reflect lived realities and support cooperation, learning, and shared progress over time.

Social Infrastructure
AISP focuses on social infrastructure — the institutional systems and shared practices that enable cooperation, knowledge exchange, and collective action over time, forming the operating system of society. These systems shape how people and organisations coordinate effort, build capacity, and pursue shared goals across diverse contexts.
By strengthening these foundations, AISP helps create the conditions in which new institutions, models, and practices can emerge, connect, and evolve — linked through a shared architecture rather than developing as isolated efforts.
Institutional Role
AISP operates as a pan-African systems architect and builder, addressing a structural gap in how progress is advanced: while many efforts concentrate on immediate outcomes, fewer invest in the underlying systems that make sustained collective advancement possible.
Through a coherent institutional platform, AISP develops and supports interconnected initiatives that put social infrastructure into practice. These initiatives operate with autonomy while remaining aligned to a shared framework, enabling insight, capability, and innovation to circulate across contexts.
Long-Term Commitment
AISP approaches social progress as a generational undertaking. By investing in the foundations beneath visible change, we contribute to systems that can adapt, mature, and sustain advancement over time—strengthening the continuum of progress across Africa and its diaspora.

"Switching to solar was the best decision we've made. Sunbeam Solar's team was professional, knowledgeable and their after-service has been outstanding. The added battery storage means we hardly ever draw power from the grid."
