Niaco is The Black Online Community Network — a more purposeful approach to online connection beyond conventional social media. It creates organised digital spaces where Black communities can connect around shared culture, interests, identity, and goals. Rather than centring online life on endless news feeds and passive scrolling, Niaco organises connection around community, purpose, and participation.

Connecting Black Communities With Purpose

Digital spaces now play a central role in how Black communities connect, communicate, build relationships, and share knowledge. Yet much of online life is shaped by algorithm-driven news feeds designed to hold attention, encouraging continuous scrolling and fragmented interaction. Niaco offers a different approach through focused online spaces that support useful exchange, stronger relationships, and more active participation.

A New Way of Organising Online Connection

Niaco begins by creating community spaces through familiar platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram, using clear themes, shared guidelines, regular activity, and community-led coordination. Spaces can form around creativity, business, learning, wellbeing, culture, local interests, and other areas of shared purpose. Each community retains its own focus and identity while forming part of a wider network, allowing relationships, knowledge, and opportunities to move more effectively between spaces. As Niaco develops, this network can create new connections between people and communities across the Black diaspora.

Niaco Within AISP

Within AISP’s shared framework, Niaco represents the Connect element. It develops the relationships, communication channels, and shared digital spaces through which Black communities can come together, exchange knowledge, coordinate activity, and build lasting connections. In this way, Niaco creates the foundations for wider collaboration, organisation, and collective progress.

London Pilot

Niaco is currently in early development, beginning with a pilot of structured Black online community spaces. These initial communities will help test and refine how the model works in practice, including how spaces are structured, coordinated, moderated, and connected. The lessons from this work will shape the wider Niaco network as it develops.
